My ultimate goal is to produce beautiful marble short-finned halfmoons or halfmoon plakats. (HMPK)
I'm looking for a 180 degree spread (D-shaped) caudal, a thick-based, rounded dorsal with a smooth top-line.
Essentially, I'm sticking to the Asymmetrical Traditional Plakat standards set by the IBC.
Currently I've got three separate lines going, which at some point I will be crossing when I get the right fish.
Second to form is color. I want to minimize or possibly remove the marbled iridescence, leaving only marbled red/non-red (orange) and black, resulting in a more "koi-fish" like appearance. I'm hoping to achieve this by working cellophanes and extended-reds into my lines and choosing fish that show no iridescence at a young age.
